Alright so here we are again with another entry...

Craig, Sean, and I traveled to NC State this past weekend for a race. We took the trailer and gave it a good workout. NC State is not in our conference, so we raced the category races (Cat 3-4) instead of collegiate races. Spencer Beamer was also there with his pro team DLP Texas Instruments. The weather was nice, the drive was long, and the racing was ferocious.

Results:
Saturday RR
Sean: crash 0.2 miles into race (sad sad sad)
Craig: Top 15
Todd: 8th

Sunday Crit
Sean: did a nice job fixing my flat tire before the race
Craig: pack finish (Top 15 probably)
Todd: I've seen better days (got in a good workout)
Spencer: 2nd place

Spencer was in a breakaway with teammate Thad, then Thad decided to go it alone and gapped back all the way around the crit course to the main group. From there is was smooth sailing for him, sitting in 1 entire lap ahead of everyone. DLP headed to the front and brought the race back all together, while protecting Thad for the win.  Spencer won the bunch sprint, as he came frickin' flying around the last left turn for the slight uphill finish. He won the sprint, but it was for 2nd place because Thad had a lap up on everyone.  It was awesome!

All in all we had a great weekend. The season is still early and this weekend let us get a check on our fitness and legs.

Next up, some of us will be racing at UGA on March 1-2, 2008.  It's gonna be a Individual Time Trial (ITT), a Road Race (RR), and a Criterium Race (crit).

Stay tuned...(sorry I'm not good at blogging)
